p2i In Action,
Edinburgh, Scotland
Between 4-7 November 2025, researchers from p2i partners and various disciplines came together in Edinburgh, Scotland for the p2i: In Action event. The event was hosted by The University of Edinburgh to explore and learn about innovation and entrepreneurship.
The event was supported by the Bayes Centre and Edinburgh Innovations and will take place at the Bayes Centre, The University of Edinburgh's Innovation Hub for AI and Data Science.

Participants were exposed to an entrepreneurial way of thinking and learnt the process to develop ideas into potential business ventures and how to communicate these through interactive team work sessions. There were plenty of opportunities to network and work in teams.

The participants gained business knowledge and a set of business skills that will complement their research skills.
Through developing the skill of validating business ideas, researchers can enhance their decision-making abilities, strategic thinking, resource management, risk assessment, and adaptability, all of which can be applied in careers in and outside academia, including starting a business.

The participants learned how to incorporate sustainability in the DNA of start up businesses and they were also welcomed in the E-Corner; a vibrant hub where ideas spark and partnerships thrive—bridging individuals both within and beyond the University walls.

Participants confirmed that entrepreneurial mindset and business skills complements the skills they have acquired as a researcher and that they developed confidence in applying this mindset, skills and tools across a range of professional scenarios - whether that is in academia or outside.

Testimonials
So grateful for an energising and truly enriching week at the p2i Network In Action event in beautiful Edinburgh - connecting with brilliant minds from across Europe to explore innovation and entrepreneurship!
I thoroughly enjoyed the sessions and conversations.
As a postdoc who is applying for grants while trying to commercialize my research on research, the frameworks are invaluable and already found their way to the grant I am writing today

Thinking out of the box.
That’s the biggest takeaway for me from the P2I event!
P2I is an absolute must for all entrepreneurs and everyone interested in starting a business. Together in small groups, we developed new startup ideas and successfully pitched them at the end of the event.
But it’s not just about the ideas, it’s about learning the foundations of entrepreneurship: from creating a Business Model Canvas to mastering the perfect pitch.
One of my favourite feelings lately is feeling *INSPIRED*, and I can tell you that p2i Network "In Action" was exactly what I needed - an energising week full of fantastic vibes, motivated people and real inspiration.
It's a great combination, trust me!
On the professional level, I am happy to see multiple routes of translating my research into real world impact and how close the researcher mind is to the entrepreneurial mind!
